Doug Gruver has always been fascinated with cooking and perfecting recipes.

In the fall of 1995, Doug revisited a favorite food of his - pizza and pizza sauce (he had been making pizzas for years, but had a goal of perfecting his old recipes). He soon realized that the true secret of a perfect pizza was in the sauce.

As he perfected the recipe for his sauce, family started commenting on how they were using the sauce - for pizzas, pastas and even a dipping sauce.

Based on that sauce recipe (and his home made Italian sausage), Doug opened up RockPower Pizza in the spring of 2003.
